Tunday Kababi is a legendary name in Indian Mughlai cuisine, especially famous for its Galawati (Galouti) Kebabs. The original shop was established in 1905 by Haji Murad Ali, fondly called "Tunday" because he had lost one arm in an accident — hence the name "Tunday" (meaning one-handed in local dialect).

Haji Murad Ali was specially commissioned by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula to create a kebab so soft that even a toothless person could enjoy it. After years of experimentation, he invented the Galawati Kebab, which melts in the mouth and still remains unmatched.
